Impact Girls – VBG

A 40% of Venezuelan women have been or have the risk of being victims of some type of gender violence. In fact, Venezuela is one of the 15 countries with the highest number of femicides in the world, so it is so important to educate young women in our country on the topic.

ImpactGirls VBG is an educational program designed by Impact Hub Caracas for girls between 13 and 17 years of age from vulnerable communities in the Caracas metropolitan area and whose objective is the prevention of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

In four (4) weeks and with the support of the Famsex and Fundamad organizations, the participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about gender violence, sexuality, the female body and its functioning, rights and autonomy of women, in order to understand the importance of the problem.
  • Develop a life project, in which you can explore through practical examples what they want to be and do in life based on their talents, passions and specific needs of their social contexts.
  • Encourage and reinforce the values, self-esteem and future prospects of each of these girls, so that they can «break the silence» if they feel vulnerable or be victims of gender violence.
