Let´s celebrate Women´s Entrepreneurship Day with women who create positive impact.

Every November 19, the International Day of Women Entrepreneurs is celebrated after the United Nations (UN) assigned this date in 2014 to make women visible, contribute to their empowerment and put an end to the inequality of their representatives in the world.

That´s why we want to invite you to Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED Women’s Entrepreneurship Day) together with four women who create impact. Next Friday, November 19 at 9:00 a.m. (Venezuelan time) in a free online event where we will welcome women and men alike. 

Get to know the stories of three Venezuelan women, connected with their purpose and passion, who work every day to create positive impact. This event will be hosted by Claudia Valladares, President and Co-Founder of Impact Hub Caracas.

These women will blow your mind.

Ileana La Rosa Oramas – Founder and Executive Director of Aliadas en Cadena. Bachelor in Arts, with a long career in teaching. She acquired and consolidated knowledge on feminist theory, the analysis of gender equality and its approach to the design and implementation of public policies. She did a major in “Women’s Studies” at Universidad Central de Venezuela.

Helena Carpio – Head of innovation at Prodavinci. Investigative journalist, data analyst, photographer, and audiovisual and podcast producer, interested in the changing relationship between societies and the environment. Her video work has been recognized with two News & Documentary Emmy nominations, her virtual reality project was selected by La Biennale di Venezia – College Cinema, and her research projects have been recognized by the Gabriel García Márquez Foundation for New Ibero-American Journalism (Gabo Foundation), the Thomson Foundation and the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), among others. She also received two grants from the Pulitzer Center for Journalism and is a member of the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF).

Lisseth Escalante – Research Coordinator ANOVA Policy Research. Master in Economics with a specialty in behavioral economics from the University of Tilburg. Economist from Universidad Central de Venezuela. Her main research topics include poverty, labor market and education. She has participated in projects based on empirical evidence to study the gender gap in Venezuela, identifying the economic and labor situation of women in the country, and the feminization of poverty.

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day @womenseday is a non-governmental organization that empowers, celebrates, and supports women entrepreneurs around the world🌎. With its international #choosewomen #eligemujeres campaign, WED works on a global scale to empower women and girls. Aiming at turning them into active participants in the economy by initiating a network of women leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs to create startups, drive economic expansion and promote communities around the world to reduce poverty.

This event will also be part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week Venezuela.
